International Symposium on Refractories (ISR) is a serial international symposium held in China for researchers of global refractoires industry for every 4 years.
ISR has been held successfully for eight sessions: 
  - the 1st ISR1988 in Hangzhou, China
  - the 2nd ISR1992 in Beijing, China
  - the 3rd ISR1998 in Beijing, China
  - the 4th ISR2003 in Dalian, China
  - the 5th ISR2007 in Beijing, China
  - the 6th ISR2012 in Zhengzhou, China
  - the 7th ISR2016 in Xi’an, China
  - the 8th ISR2021 in Wuhan
The ninth International Symposium on Refractories (ISR2024) will be held in Chengdu, China on October 15-18, 2024.
