Lifeng Zhang is the currently the President and professor of North China University of Technology. He was the Vice President and professor at Yanshan University, China (2019 – 2022), Dean of the School of Metallurgical and Ecological Engineering with the University of Science and Technology Beijing (2012 – 2019), assistant professor and associate professor at with Missouri University of Science and Technology (2007 – 2011), professor at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (2005–2007). After receiving his PhD in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology Beijing in 1998, Dr Zhang, has been in academic research in Japan, USA and Germany in several Universities. Dr Zhang’s research focuses on clean steel and inclusions, modelling of process metallurgy and low carbon technology of steelmaking process. He has published over 400 academic papers and been awarded over 50 patents. Dr Zhang received Richard J. Fruehan Award from Association for Iron & Steel Technology, USA, and a Distinguished Visiting Fellowship Award of Royal Academy of Engineering, UK.
